Empowered & Thriving: A Health Workshop for Girls and Women

At our recent Empowered & Thriving health workshop, teenage girls and women came together for a vibrant and uplifting experience centered on self-care, confidence, and lifelong wellness. This interactive session offered a safe and engaging space for participants to:

​

  • Understand their developing bodies: From puberty to adulthood, attendees learned how to navigate physical changes with knowledge, confidence, and grace.

  • Prioritize self-care: Experts shared practical tips on hygiene, emotional health, exercise, and nutrition tailored to each life stage.

  • Build healthy habits for life: Through interactive activities and real-life scenarios, participants explored sustainable ways to maintain physical, emotional, and mental well-being.

Designed to nurture body literacy and personal empowerment, the workshop provided not only guidance but also a sense of community, reminding every girl and woman that her health journey is one worth celebrating.

Celebrating "World Water Day" in Goro, Tchaourou Municipality

On Sunday, March 23, 2025, Africot commemorated World Water Day with residents of the Goro district in the Tchaourou municipality. The event’s central theme was: “The Importance of Water.”

​

The celebration began with attendees settling in, creating a warm and attentive atmosphere. A spokesperson then introduced Africot’s mission and work, setting the stage for the day’s focus: understanding the vital role of water, recognizing waterborne diseases, and learning practical strategies for prevention.

​

Following the introduction, the session transitioned into a series of presentations covering key sub-themes:

​

•    Sources of drinking water

•    Risks of consuming non-potable water and methods to ensure water safety

•    Safe water treatments and transportation practices to prevent contamination

•    Techniques for collecting and consuming clean drinking water

​

After the presentations, participants sought clarification and engaged more deeply with the topics discussed.

The event concluded with heartfelt expressions of gratitude toward the Africot team for their dedication and presence. Their efforts were warmly acknowledged by the community, reinforcing the importance of continued collaboration in promoting health and well-being.
